The Adventure Motorcycling Handbook is pretty much the Bible when you are planing a long Motorcycle trip around the world or just a few countries down the road. Suffice to say we read it cover to cover at the beginning of our trip planning and have referred to it many times since.
It’s a good place to start and makes planing such an adventure far less daunting. It has hints and tips about all aspects of the trip, from what bike to take to how many pairs of socks you may need. There are basic bike maintenance tips such as instructions on how to fix a puncture, as well as a few encouraging stories and experiences of people who have gone and done it before you.
And there is a website of the book and other stuff Chris Scott has been up to as well.
