Next came Sasha:

Found this little gem at Kickstart, the workshop where Aidan decided to get Suki’s Mot done on the way to the shops one Saturday, And yes, it was love at first sight, I just HAD to have her! A 1979 Suzuki GS500E (the European Version of the old GS550E as it was sold in GB) Aidan insisted I must sell Chimmi in exchange…. it’s just not sensible to have three bikes so close to setting  off on the big trip. So once I found out I could sell Chimmi for more than Sasha would cost, the deal was sealed! (And a huge tear shed for Chimmi!)

Her speedometer is in Km/h and says “Nippon” – the old name for Japan! Such a smoooooooooooth little 4 cylinder! A little slow off the spot and a heavy iron horse. But with a lot of patience, reliable and just sumptuous around corners! Can’t wait to come back from the trip and restore her properly – she’ll have a lot more power and gleam to her then. (I am busy convincing Aidan that I should definitely not sell her to raise funds for the trip – his parents have a perfect barn to store her in Ireland….. short trip!!:) )
